This large bathroom required being stripped out and completely renewed. The client purchased all the furniture from Buildbase Portsmouth with furniture from the Ideal Standard, Vio and Daryl catalogues. The latter supplied the walk in shower.
The following sequence of renovation occured:
- The majority of the walls were found to "blown" therefore the old plaster was removed and replaced.
- The lathe ceiling was also found to be in need of urgent repair and was therefore removed and replaced with plaster board and skimmed.
- Extensive plumbing changes took place in the 3 foot underfloor void to ensure sufficient "drop" was achieved with the sewage pipework.
- Down lighters installed in the ceiling.
- Towel rail connected with electric power and hot water supply for winter and summer heating.
- Floor to ceiling tiling undertaken on eighty percent of the walls.
- All initial plumbing took place and on completion the cushion flooring laid.
- Furniture fitted and services connected and tested.
- Bathroom cleaned to high standard and presented to client.
